Let’s Chat About Salesforce Acquiring Slack

Our Take on the Acquisition

We applaud Salesforce’s decision to acquire Slack. It validates zAgile’s view that Slack and Salesforce are a crucial combination for cross-team collaboration, and that’s why we offer Chat:Bridge, to align Support, Product, Go-to-Market teams.

That begs the question for the zAgile community: What does that mean for the future of zAgile Chat:Bridge, which integrates Salesforce and Slack?

We are equally excited and optimistic.

  • The acquisition affirms our strong belief that Slack offers a lot of opportunities to Salesforce users for improving process automation, cross-team collaboration, and bridging various silos that exist in enterprises — areas on which zAgile has been razor-focused.
  • It also gives zAgile an opportunity to be at the forefront of this niche, given the years of R&D investment zAgile has already made and continues to make on Chat:Bridge.  This is even more relevant given that it may take several years for Salesforce to begin implementing its vision following the acquisition, whereas Chat:Bridge already provides deep and rich integration between Salesforce and Slack out-of-the-box.
  • And lastly, zAgile has continued its focus on providing fully developed integration solutions rather than a platform, with particular focus on use cases that address Sales, Support, and Product teams in the enterprise.  This has allowed zAgile to continue to be successful with Customer Support and Product teams, given the richness of its integrations (see #1 rated solution for integrating Jira with Salesforce Service Cloud on AppExchange).
